Fun at work ...

... is something not many people have these days. I guess I'm lucky to say that I do have fun at work. For me fun is to be able to be creative, like an artist shaping some new sculpture which does come out very nice in the end. For my team and me this creative work currently means to do high performance computing. Our goal is to do full-line-rate packet processing of a 1GB/s network link. The fun part is that you can try new things, like we are currently experimenting with Intel Threading Building Blocks (Intel TBB) and special capture hardware to help with this task. Trying new things is fun. Being a SW developer and architect is fun. Sharing a common vision with the team is fun. Reaching your defined goal is fun. Learning from others is fun. Being able to share ideas with other smart people is fun.
